Indoor Athletics Stadium in Valdiviasite:
Valdivia, Los Ríos Region, ChileAlong the Callecalle River, in Region XIV of Chile, the construction of an Indoor Athletics Stadium is proposed. To accommodate large spans, hyperbolic paraboloids are studied and used. Six of these cover the track and adjacent spaces: locker rooms, cafeterias, service areas, and more.
The circulation paths are understood as streets and interior plazas, collecting the characteristic rainfall of the region.
The uses of the gym, cafeterias, and other public spaces are intended to integrate with the surrounding area, which has significant water sports activity along the river that borders the site. In this way, the stadium is conceived not only as a venue for athletic competitions but also as a community asset for the city.
